The new Facebook Layout for 2010 has been released, and the social media site creators are hoping the new design inspires the 350 million users to use the site in brand new ways.

The changes to your Facebook page are subtler than the last redesign, but there are definitely some big shifts. First, the search box has been moved to a more prominent position in the middle of the page. Secondly, on the left side of the page, the new Facebook now shows you which of your friends are online automatically, rather than having to click on the chat tool at the bottom right corner of the screen.

While the changes this time around are more subtle, and seem less obtrusive and drastic as the last major layout redesign, there is sure to be controversy.
